Aaron Heslehurst has been a BBC business and news presenter since February 2002. He has presented across all of the BBC television channels, including BBC World News, the 24 hour News Channel, BBC Two and has been part of the presenter team on BBC Breakfast, the acclaimed morning programme on BBC One.  He covers the latest from leading international and domestic corporate and consumer news to global finance as well as breaking major news stories.

In 2009 Aaron won "Best Industry Commentator of the Year" - voted by the British Public in the Daily Telegraph Wealth Management Awards.

During the day - Aaron is the main face of BBC World Business – delivering the big stories with his usual energy, enthusiasm and excitement to BBC World’s flagship programs including GMT, Impact and Global.

Aaron regularly covers the big stories that matter to consumers. From global food prices to the fast changing face of technology and the devices we use today.  From the plane makers to the car makers - from the global crackdown on banking and corporate corruption -  Aaron breaks the stories down by asking the right questions to make sure the audience understands why it’s important and matters to them.

Aaron also continues to extensively cover and report on the sovereign debt problems in the Eurozone as well as the ongoing general difficulties facing the global economy.

Over the past few years Aaron has reported on the global credit crunch and the wider global economic slowdown. He's reported on the economic consequences of a range of international stories, from the global war on terrorism, the impact of record-breaking global oil prices, the collapse of the Japanese banks, the ongoing trade wars between the European Union and the United States, the battles over EU competition rules, the SARS virus and the downfall of world tourism - including the plight of the international airlines. Aaron has also interviewed some of the world's biggest corporate leaders and leaders, from the World Bank, the IMF, the European Union and the World Trade Organisation.

As well as news presenting, Aaron occasionally reports for FASTTRACK, BBC World News’ weekly travel news programme. His specialty and passion lies in the global aviation industry. Aaron has interviewed the heads of some of the world’s largest and leading airlines, including United, British Airways, American Airlines, Qantas, Etihad, SAS, Air Canada, Thai, Iberia, Air India, Malaysian, Emirates, Air New Zealand and Gulf Air.  He also keeps across the global air cargo industry and business aviation.

Prior to joining BBC World News, Aaron was a Senior News Anchor with CNBC Nordic, a branch of NBC America, based in Copenhagen, Denmark. He previously worked as the European Bureau Chief for Paramount Pictures and Real TV News in the USA and later in London. While at Paramount, Aaron managed and operated Paramount Pictures’ Real TV European Bureau, which involved producing and directing European stories and events.

A native of Australia, Aaron started his journalistic career as a News Reporter for Prime Television/Seven Network in Sydney and Canberra.

There he gained vital experience in all areas of news reporting, including his first significant live-on-air and on-set work. He went on to win an Australian National Press Club award for best creative story on tourism.

Aaron graduated first in his class from University in California with an honours degree in Broadcast Journalism and Media Studies.

Aaron is married and lives in London.
